A Primer for Visions, Dreams and Prophecies (INCOMPLETE)

The Seer as the “one who sees” in the Hebrew and the “glancing one” in the Septuagint.)

·        The Septuagint (70 books) is the Greek translation of the OT.

·        The Septuagint or the Greek OT defines “seer” as the “glancing one.”  The prophet simply needs to glance and see in the Spirit to the point that he or she instinctively knows what the Lord says, not needing the acquisition or learning of progressive knowledge, which is discernment.  They can then prophesy by this type of spiritual glancing, and seeing to produce instinctive knowledge.

I Sam 9: 18  Septuagint And Saul {1} drew near to Samuel into the midst of the city, and said, Tell me now {2} which is the house of the seer? (Which is the house of the glancing one?)

1 Sam 9:19  And Samuel answered Saul, and said, I am the seer: go up before me unto the high place; for ye shall eat with me to day, and to morrow I will let thee go, and will tell thee all that is in thine heart.

·        A high place- the possession of key terrains to the extent of the acquisition of firm control in the spiritual realm.

·        The dignity of the prophet.  The ability to declare to others what is within their hearts.

Visions as a Documentation of History

2 Chronicles 9:29  Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, are they not written in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer against Jeroboam the son of Nebat?

·        The only instance of the use of this particular genre of vision amongst a broad family of visions.  In this case the visions of Iddo represented part of the historical collection pertaining to the life of Jeroboam.

·

Visions prompted through an Ecstatic State.

(The Strong’s family of visions # 1611 in the NT and # 04236 in the OT)

Ekstatis  ( Strong’s # 1611)

·        That of a man who by some sudden emotion is transported as it were out of himself, so that in this rapt condition, although he is awake, his mind is drawn off from all surrounding objects and wholly fixed on things divine that he sees nothing but the forms and images lying within, and thinks that he perceives with his bodily eyes and ears realities shown him by God.

·        The result of being so immersed in the Spirit of God, in which the Spirit of God floods, titillates, and controls all of the sensory perceptions of the minister.

Acts 10:10  And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance

·        Greek: Fell upon him ekstatis.

Ac 11:5  I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me:

·        Greek; I saw (seeing that creates knowledge) in ecstasy, a vision.

Ac 22:17  And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance

·         Greek: I became in ecstasy.

Gen 15:1 ¶ After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying (rhematic discourse), Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

Hebrew: The logos ( concept) word of the Lord came to Abram rhematically speaking.

Sept:1 ¶ And after these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram, I shield thee, thy reward shall be very great.

·        Septuagint; The rhema word of the Lord came “ into fellowship” with Abram in the sphere or the Septuagint tells us that God uses visions to give us rhema words.

·        A trance type of vision, or a vision in an ecstatic state.

·        This family of visions has a prophetic function to it.

·        Prompted through a state of spiritual ecstasy

·        This type of vision can occur while in an awaken state.

·        The following are the other three scriptural instances of this genre of vision.  The  #0436 is the Strong’s number associated with it.

Numb 24:3  And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said:

·         ( Septuagint)3  And he took up his parable and said, Balaam son of Beor says, the man who sees truly says, The man who discerns with accurateness and according to fact.

4  he says who hears the oracle( Who is hearing the rhematic discourse of God) of the Mighty One, who saw a vision of God( Who saw the vision of God with discernment) in sleep; his eyes were opened:( uncovered as in “apocalypses” spiritual revelation)

Nu 24:4  He hath said, which heard the words of God, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:

·        Septuagint: Who discerned the vision of God while in the realm of sleep, his eyes being uncovered. (Spiritual eyes.)

·        The Septuagint tells us that in Balaam’s physical eyes being asleep caused his spiritual eyes to be opened.  To the proportion that we close our natural sensory perceptions as we submerge ourselves into the world of the Holy Spirit is to the proportion that our spiritual sensory perceptions will be opened.

·        Please observe with me the Hebrew exegesis of the same verses, as follows.

Numb 24:3  And he took up TWOT-1421; v his parable, and said) to say, speak, utter, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said:

·        Balam has his outer senses closed so that he could have his inner senses opened. The outer perception is closed to the world so that the inner one could be opened.

·        Whose (spiritual) eyes are unclosed has uttered prophetically as and oracle of God through the unclosed condition of his spiritual eyes.

4       He hath said, which heard the words of God (The rhematic sayings of God), which saw the vision of the Almighty(Shadday) TWOT-2333);, falling (to fall prostrate, prostrate oneself before)  into a trance, but having his eyes open:

·        Falling down by the power of God

·         Hebrew translation; He has uttered forth prophetically as he is hearing the “rhematic discourse “of God. This being the result of seeing visions of God, which have given him revelations to speak forth prophetically. These visions came while in a trance, where his spiritual eyes were made naked.

·        Our spiritual eyes must be made naked and unclosed if we are to truly minister in the Spirit.

Eze 13:7  Have ye not seen a vain vision,  and have ye not spoken a lying divination, hereas ye say, The LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken?

·        A trance type of vision, or a vision in an ecstatic state.

·        This family of visions has a prophetic function to it.

·        Prompted through a state of spiritual ecstasy

·        This type of vision can occur while in an awaken state.

·        The following are the other three scriptural instances of this genre of vision.

Ecstatic Prophesying

·          The seer, the “Hozeh” or “Roeh”, in the Hebrew is the “seeing one.

·                    In the Septuagint, he or she is called the “glancing one.”

·                    The seer is the prophet that sees in the Spirit in the dimension of visions and dreams, Most of these prophetic revelations occur within the realm of the personal relationship with the Lord. The reception of dreams and visions is the product of the prophet’s personal communion with the Lord. The messenger as to his or her subjective work in receiving revelations from the Lord.

·                    The prophet, as to public ministry is the “Nabiy” or spokesperson for the Lord.  The prophet obtains privately from the Lord in the mode of a seer, and speaks out publicly in the mode of a prophet or “Nabiy.” The Nabiy is the objective or active work of the messenger.

·        The “Nabiy” is defined as the one “who bubbles up” or “speaks in a frenzy”.

·        The culmination of the prophet’s office to speak as a Nabiy ecstatic state. In this manner of speaking, the prophet’s vocal chords are under the control and the impulses of the Lord’s mouth deep within their spirit.

·        When I was asking the Lord how to speaks in this ecstatically activated “frenzied manner”, or by the speaking forth of God’s rhema discourse as it bubbles up from within the spirit, the Lord showed me ‘His mouth” deep in my spirit.

·        Please look with me at some of the following scriptures that will confirm this.

·         Notice the Hebrew translation according to the commandment of the LORD should really translate as “At the mouth of Yahweh”.   Please look with me at some of the following scriptures to confirm this.

Exodus 17:1  And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD

(As by the mouth of Yahweh), and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink.

Numbers 4:37  These were they that were numbered of the families of the Kohathites, all that might do service in the tabernacle of the congregation, which Moses and Aaron did number according to the commandment of the LORD(At the mouth of Yahweh),  by the hand of Moses.

Numbers 4:41  These are they that were numbered of the families of the sons of Gershon, of all that might do service in the tabernacle of the congregation, whom Moses and Aaron did number according to the commandment (At the mouth of Yahweh),  of the LORD.

·        When we speak with our human mouths, we do not think of what we are going to say. Our instinctual thought patterns are perfectly synchronized with our mouths so that the thoughts, which are created, are vocalized as utterances almost simultaneously.

·       When we speak ecstatically “at the mouth of God”, His mouth, deep within our spirits, seizes and titillates our vocal chords in the same way that our mind seizes and titillates our vocal chords when we speak from a human standpoint.

·        The deeper that we live in the world of the Spirit, the closer that we live “By the mouth of the Lord” which dwells deep within our spirits. Likewise, the more that the Lord’s mouth will be able to influence and titillate our vocal chords to bring forth His rhematic discourses.

Mat 3:11  I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

·        I am not sure if the expression “and with fire” is in the Greek mood “of location” (IN FIRE) or the one of “instrumentality” (WITH FIRE).

·        In either case it does not really matter.  We have been submerged not only into the world of the Holy Spirit, but likewise into the world of the Holy Spirit’s fire.

·        We have been taught, that the baptism of fire is what the Lord uses to purge and purify us. However, fire also has the property, which heats and causes water to boil.

·        Therefore, the deeper that we live in the world of the Spirit, the more in contact we shall come with that fire which causes the ministry of the NABIY to come forth as he or she speaks up through the bubbling up, or the frenzying of the Spirit’s water as they boil up by the action of the “baptism with fire.”

·        My friend Leo Lesaca, like wise saw a vision in which we become engorged with the fullness of the Spirit, and the rhematic discourses of God are literally vomited out of our mouths.

Visions as Means of Attaining  To Revelation & also Visions Found Within Dreams While Sleeping

(The Strong’s # 04759 family of visions)

Gen 46:2  And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.

·        God speaks in the sphere or in the world of a vision

Ex 38:8  And he made the laver of brass, and the foot of it of brass, of the lookingglasses of the women assembling, which assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

·        Looking glass or mirror is the same word used for this type of vision.

Nu 12:6  And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision  and will speak unto him in a dream.

SEPT: 6  And he said to them, Hear my words: If there should be of you a prophet to the Lord, I will be made known to him in a vision, and in sleep will I speak to him. (In sleep I will utter “prophetically” to him.)

Eze 1:1  Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw(discerned) visions <04759> of God.

Eze 8:3  And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions <04759> of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.

SEPT3  And he stretched forth the likeness of a hand, and took me by the crown of my head; and the Spirit lifted me up between the earth and sky, and brought me to Jerusalem in a vision ( and led me into Jerusalem in the sphere of, or by a vision) of God, to the porch of the {1} gate that looks to the north, where was the pillar of the {2} Purchaser. {1)

Eze 40:2  In the visions <04759> of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, by which was as the frame of a city on the south.

SEPT1 ¶ And it came to pass in the twenty-fifth year of our captivity, in the first month, on the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after the taking of the city, in that day the hand of the Lord was upon me, and brought me

2         in a vision of God into the land of Israel ( And led me in a vision or by a vision into the land of Israel), and set me on a very high mountain, and upon it there was as it were the frame of a city before me.

Da 10:7  And I Daniel alone saw the vision <04759>: for the men that were with me saw not the vision <04759>; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.

Sept: 7  And I Daniel only saw the vision (a sight, a vision, an appearance presented to one whether asleep or awake): and the men that were with me saw not the vision(a sight, a vision, an appearance presented to one whether asleep or awake) ; but a great amazement fell upon them (a great ecstasy fell upon them), and they fled in fear.

·        Related Hebrew words for the vision described in the Septuagint in verse seven

·        Strong’s 04758 mar’eh- sight, phenomenon, spectacle, appearance, vision

·        # 04759 mar’ah- mode of revelation; mirror

·        # 07200 –“To see”

Nu 12:8  With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

·        Septuagint- “Mouth, according to mouth.”

·         In other words, the very life; (its regulations, restrictions, and boundaries dictating the prophet’s life as it consumes him,) is the mouth of the Lord dwelling within the prophet’s spirit.  God’s spiritual mouth must be revealed within the prophet as it controls the prophets’ mouth, by opening it and bubbling up to it the rhematic discourse of the Lord.

Psalms 89:19 ¶ Then thou spakest in vision (VISION RESPECTING FUTURE EVENTS, PROPHETIC VISION, AN UTTERED ORACLE IN AN ECSTATIC STATE FROM THE MOUTH OF THE LORD) to thy holy one, and saidst ( RHEMA), I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.

·        Septuagint: You uttered in the realm or in the world of a vision.

The Mantle of Elijah

2 King 2:8  And Elijah took his mantle  TWOT-28c , and wrapped it together TWOT-354, and smote (Hiphil-Imperfect) the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.

·        ·        Mantle comes from what is majestic; because it is a costly robe.

9 ¶ And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double TWOT-2421a portion TWOT-1738; of thy spirit be upon me.

·         “A double portion” Hebrew translation “DUAL MOUTHS”

·        The double portion of God’s Spirit is not a multiplication or stacking up of the Spirit’s power. It is not a “doubling up” of an item.  The Hebrew tells us that it signifies ‘duality” or “two’s”

·        A double portion can be likened to two set of wheels in a big truck that gives it stability, or seeing through the two eye pieces of a binocular which gives fullness of vision, or the counsel of two mouths which gives us wisdom.

Sept 3 ¶ And God came to Abimelech by night in sleep ( came God into fellowship with Abimelech in the sphere of the sleep of the night), and said, Behold, thou diest for the woman, whom thou hast taken, whereas she has lived with a husband.

6       And God said unto him in a dream,) dream (with prophetic meaning) (God was speaking to him in a continuum of time through  a rhematic dialogue BY means of a dream)  Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her.
